Keep Douglas County Beautiful partnered up with some of Douglas County’s Elementary schools for Read Across America week. Created by the National Education Association in 1997, Read Across America is an initiative on reading held during the week of Dr. Seuss birthday, March 2. K.D.C.B. coordinator Tabrieah Cobb and our friends Buddy and Dougie visited Mirror Lake, Bright Star, Mt. Carmel, and New Manchester Elementary as a Special Guest and taught kindergarten - third grade students about the importance of knowing where our trash goes and keeping our town beautiful!
